Preparing for Baby's Arrival

For new moms, nine months is a long waiting time for them to see their little one. Baby’s arrival will definitely change your lifestyle and time schedule. It is better to prepare before the baby arrives because after giving birth, you will be busy taking care of her and will have no time to rush for important things. Here are some of the tips I can share for the preparation of your baby’s arrival.
First and foremost, prepare yourself for giving birth. Have enough rest and sleep because you will need a lot of energy to burst that little bundle of joy. You may attend prenatal classes to prepare your body through the exercises for pregnant women. Interviewing friends, relatives or even your mom about their experience of giving birth may give you some hint. You may read online about the signs of labor to know when the time to deliver is about to come. Usually, labor signs includes contractions which are 15 minutes apart, with back pain similar to the feeling when you want to have bowel movement.
On your seventh month, you must have already communicated with the doctor who will give birth to you and had already discussed about the delivery. Prepare for the things to bring in the hospital. On the seventh month, the nursery bags must have been packed. You may pack four bags, for you, for the baby, for hubby and for those who will visit you. Baby’s bag should have going home outfits like tie-shirts, pair of mittens, and a receiving blanket since hospitals today provide diapers, swaddling blankets, milk formula for non-breastfeeding babies and other necessities. Your bag must include a moisturizer and make-up to still look pretty after giving birth, night gowns, maternity pads, nursing pads, slippers, insurance papers, ID’s and toiletries. Your hubby’s bag must have toiletries, a blanket, magazine, set of clothes, snacks and a camera to take picture of you and the baby. A separate bag that contains snacks, paper plates, juices in tetra pack and coffee is also important if your relatives and friends will visit you in the hospital.
Your house must be ready also for the baby’s arrival. It must be clean and free from dust that might irritate the baby. You must have decided also who will help you in taking care of the baby and who will take-over in case that you will go back to work. The food for the first 2 weeks after delivery should have been prepared already since you will have no time to prepare for everything when the baby comes.
Spending time with hubby is also important to develop that emotional security which you will need also when giving birth. Pamper yourself and enjoy every moment so when the baby arrives, you are ready to start a new journey with your little one.
