According to many Doctors and Attorneys, The Yaz birth control pill since its inception has been linked to many side effects. In some cases these side effects can cause serious health problems. Below is a list explaining these side effects and how they can affect you.

Headaches:

Doctors have observed a connection between Yaz and headaches in women. This is most common during women’s first Yaz cycles. With some women these headaches can be very minor. However, other women have been known to experience severe migraines. This side effect can also be compounded by what is known as Yaz headache dizziness. This is caused by the combination of hormones that are found in Yaz. (Source: yaz-side-effects-attourney.com)

Blood Clots:

While the FDA and scientists have yet to determine why there is a direct link to Yaz and blood clots, many of the women who have taken Yaz have developed blood clots. Blood clots form when platelets rush to repair damaged blood vessels in the body. It is just like a cut that forms a scab, only on the inside of your body.

Deep Vein Thrombosis:

These are blood clots that form in the human veins. They are dangerous because even a small one can travel to vital organs in the body, blocking the flow of oxygen to these organs. Women who smoke and/or are over the age of 35 have a higher risk of having this happen to them when taking Yaz.

Pulmonary Embolism:

This is also known as a lung embolism. It happens when a blood clot travels to the lung and becomes lodged there. This can block one or more arteries in the lung. More often than not these clots form in the legs, however, in some cases they can also form in the arms or even the eyes.

Kidney Infections:

Many women who have taken Yaz have reported varying degrees of kidney infection. They can cause fever, chills, nausea, lower back pain, and painful urination.

Hyperkalemia:

This is a condition in which the kidney has been severely damaged or has already failed. Yaz contains a drug known as drospirenone (DRSP). This drug can lead to the potassium levels in your body to be raised. Too much potassium in the body will damage kidneys very badly.

Liver Disease:

This occurs when liver enzymes in the body are raised. When DRSP is combined with estrogen it can raise your liver enzymes. Eye pain, abdomen pain, and dark urine are some of the symptoms associated with liver disease.

If you have taken or are taking Yaz and have experienced any of these symptoms or side effects you are highly likely to be accepted into the Yaz Lawsuit.
